
Avery Lee Buchholz MD MPH
Dr. Buchholz had a strong interest in spinal disorders throughout his residency, focusing his research and clinical training on minimally invasive spine surgery and advancing those techniques. He had numerous publications and presentations on this topic throughout residency, winning awards for both. After his training at MUSC, he completed a complex spine surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia working with world renowned surgeons Dr. Christopher Shaffrey and Dr. Justin Smith. While at UVA he also completed an AO spine fellowship, winning the national award for best clinical research.
Dr. Avery L. Buchholz specializes in adult degenerative scoliosis, complex spine revisions, and minimally invasive spinal procedures. He treats all conditions related to the spine.
